Founded nearly 30 years ago, Virtual Doorman pioneered the remote doorman category to deliver secure, high-quality building services without the cost of traditional on-site staffing.

Through centralized live-operator access control and purpose-built technology, Virtual Doorman provides secure entry, visitor management, and package handling for multifamily and residential properties nationwide. Built as a full operating platform—not a point solution—the company developed its own integrated hardware, software, and 24/7 monitoring infrastructure long before remote building management became industry standard.

Since founding Virtual Doorman in 1997, Colin has been instrumental in designing and evolving the architecture and core features that define every generation of the platform. His unique combination of technology expertise and deep industry knowledge has enabled the company to deliver an affordable, innovative security solution that has transformed personal services within the real estate market. As Chief Information Officer, Colin leads technology innovation across the organization, overseeing system architecture, product development, and day-to-day operational technology. He continuously tracks emerging technologies to ensure Virtual Doorman maintains its competitive and technological edge within the industry.
Cristine Morettin

General Manager
A Texas native and graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Cristine joined Virtual Doorman in 2002. Prior to joining the company, she held roles in marketing and business development across the publishing and technology sectors. As General Manager, Cristine is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and overall management of the company. She works closely with the CEO to oversee internal operations while supporting sales and marketing initiatives that drive growth. Cristine has played a critical role in building operational excellence and establishing Virtual Doorman as a recognized market leader in the industry.

Debbie has been a driving force behind the company’s growth for more than a decade. Known for her integrity, relentless work ethic, and unwavering commitment, Debbie consistently gives 200 percent to everything she does. Since joining Virtual Doorman in 2014, Debbie has been responsible for new business, playing a pivotal role in expanding its footprint across key markets including Richmond, Virginia; Chicago, Illinois; and Indianapolis, while continuing to grow strong portfolios in San Francisco and Sacramento. As a leader in new business development, she is known for opening doors in highly competitive markets and turning opportunity into long-term partnerships. Entering a traditionally male-dominated industry with no prior experience, Debbie built her success from the ground up through disciplined research, persistence, and pure cold outreach. Her results speak to her leadership, determination, and deep belief in the Virtual Doorman mission.

Jose Ortega is the Installation Manager at Virtual Doorman, where he oversees all system installations and technical service operations across the company’s national portfolio. With nearly two decades of experience in security systems, access control, and building technology, Jose plays a critical role in ensuring every Virtual Doorman deployment is executed with precision, reliability, and long-term performance in mind. Jose leads end-to-end installation and service operations, including system design coordination, hardware and software configuration, network integration, testing, and ongoing technical support. He is deeply involved in troubleshooting complex technical issues, optimizing system performance, and ensuring seamless integration with existing building infrastructure. His hands-on expertise helps minimize downtime while delivering consistent, secure, and scalable solutions for property managers and residents.
Known for his technical rigor and attention to detail, Jose serves as the backbone of Virtual Doorman’s field operations—translating advanced technology into dependable, real-world security solutions that buildings can trust.

Aaron serves as Director of Operations and Customer Support at Virtual Doorman, where he oversees all call center operations and customer support initiatives. With a focus on operational excellence, team development, and process improvement, Aaron leads a dedicated team of exceptional Virtual Doormen in all of our Operations Centers who are committed to providing responsive and knowledgeable support. His leadership ensures that Virtual Doorman clients receive the guidance and assistance they need, while continually refining internal operations to meet the evolving needs of the industry.

Office Manager
Mari is the Office Manager at Virtual Doorman, where she plays a central role in supporting company leadership and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the organization. Known for her professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail, Mari is a trusted partner to the President and a key contributor to the company’s operational stability. Mari began her career at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where she supported executive leadership and associates in a fast-paced, high-performance corporate environment. She later built a successful sales career with Equinox Fitness, further strengthening her relationship management and business acumen. In addition to her corporate experience, Mari has appeared in national advertising campaigns, including commercials for Special K. Today, Mari manages the company’s day-to-day accounting needs while providing steady, detail-driven support that enables Virtual Doorman’s leadership and teams to operate efficiently and with confidence.
